Gamagol Side Dishes... Panchan

Sides dishes galore....

Favorite side dish....hints of wasabi

Bim bim bop.... super hot stone bowl, made the rice a little toooo crunchy

Step 1: Add lots of kochuchan Step 2: Mix Step 3: Mix Step 4: Keep mixing Step 5: Enjoy

BBQ Chicken, tasty but could have had a nice little sauce on top or maybe as a side.

Los Angeles Farmer's Market aka The Grove

The Los Angeles Farmer's Market has a been around as long as....well basically since LA has been around. It has a loooooon storied past and is a great place just walk around and really enjoy yourself.

Check out a few of this eating places: Try out Singapore's Banana Leaf for a twist on the average Chinese or Thai food. Grab a Cornbeef Sandwich at LA own Magee's Kitchen or swing by The Gumbo Pot for some Cajun style cooking. Try our Pampas Grill for some Brazilian style BBQ served by the lb#

Chocolate Covered Strawberries...yum! They are quite expensive so you might want to try make a few at home.

Produce, produce, produce....

Chocolate heaven....with some Caramel Corn to top it off with

Enterprise Fish Co

Blackened Ahi Tuna.....a staple in the industry.

Bone in New York Steak, tasty but could have been aged a little more...think that's why they are Enterprise FISH Co not Enterprise STEAK Co.

Australian Lobster Tail....big, sweet and straight forward.

Jumbalaya....spicy, flavorful & off the beaten path.

EFC straw"Berries".... tasty little guys. Basically a churro battered strawberries sitting in a pool of Creme Anglaise & Chocolate Sauce.

Ice Cream Mud Pie, classic, rustic, big portion and satifying.

'Wichcraft

'Wichcraft in San Francisco, Union Square. Didn't get a chance to try lunch but we woke up early just to grab breakfast here. Did it live up to the hype???...yes it did, the Ham, Avo & butter sandwich on a baguette was pefectly executed and the Onion Fritatta was quite tasty. Potato & White Cheddar Cheese soup was silky smooth, flavorful and not too heavy and with the a hint of Parsley Oil....yum.

Of course for dessert they have ice cream 'wiches, which are made from their homemade ice cream and homemade cookies. Cinnamon ice cream with graham cracker cookie and a chocolate coookie with vanilla ice cream....the graham with cinnamon with cinnamon ice cream might have been a bit much but was satisfying but the chocolate cookie tasted strangely familiar too an Oreo cookie..... Overall one of the best "hip" sandwich places I've been and a very reasonable price point.

Sohoju "Upscale/Trendy Korean"

Playing off the NYC neighborhood name SoHo & combining it with the ever popular Korean potato & grain based "liquor" Soju....Soju had recently gained popularity because of it's versatility being a low percentage alcohol & techinically classified as a wine, hence the ability to serve with only a Beer & Wine license. It is also easily subsituted for Vodka or other clear based liquors in most mixed drinks.

The basis to an upscale Bim Bim Bop. Spinach, Bean Spourts, Carrots, Mushrooms, Radish & Cucumbers. This was extremely fresh but not as tasty as many other more traditional Korean places.

BBQ chicken with Kochuchan dipping sauce with fresh veggie sides & an interesting "healthy" twist of green tea rice.

The entire "set" meal that they offer during lunch at Sohoju. Sohoju is located in LA J-Town just off of 1st street....not the cheapest Korean food but worth a try.

Tribute to the Frozen Yogurt Craze

This is my little tribute to the ever growing Frozen Yogurt Craze....much like the Boba Craze....the question is how long will it last?

Fiore is one of many franchise companies trying to turn the trend into cash. Red Mango & Pinkberry being the others. Red Mango is the Korean Company who orginated the healthy Frozen Yogurt movement in Korea, which Pinkberry took and ran with here in the States. Fiore is the "Italian" version of their Korean counterparts.

Daphne's Greek Cafe

Chicken Combo Plate

Very tasty food, although "americanized" and slightly generic. The salad was fresh with a nice zesty italianish dressing, the kabobs were cooked well, the rice good and the pita right on.

I remember my sister taking me to Daphne's in La Jolla quite a few years ago (12+) and wondering what "kind" of food this was...... well it was healthy and tasty food to be exact.

Mixed Kabob Plate
A lil Chicken & lil Beef, rice, salad, pita & tzatziki sauce.

Freshia

Freshia Korean Market in Torrance, CA. Great little market that has a tremendous produce section that basically specializes in Korean veggies, fruits, etc. You can pretty much find what ever you need to make that great Galbi dish with a million sides dishes aka Oeji (Pickled Cucumbers) , Kim Chee (Kim Chee aka Napa Cabbage, Garlic & more stuff) , Kon Na Mul (Bean Sprouts)
Luckily they have a nice little and I do mean little Food Court area, which has the likes of Kyo Chon. Kyo Chun is a super tasty "Korean Style" Fried Chicken, this basically means it's super tasty and fried to order. You can get the spicy version if you dare but this time around we decided to just enjoy the pureness of the delicately crispy fried chicken.

Kim Chee Fried Rice

Some traditional side dishes.....

It's a must to have this slightly sweetened pickled Daikon that accompanies the Chicken....

Hodoori

Late night dining in the heart of K-Town.....Hodoori. Great place for a quick bite anytime (after K-Clubbing, A hard night of drinking, Late night studying or just because nothing else is open.

Yukijang (Spicy Beef Broth with Glass Noodles, Green Onions & Sunnyside Up Egg)

Numerious tasty side dishes: Potato Salad, Spicy Pickled Daikon, Bean Sprouts etcf

Sushi Roku

Sushi Roku in Pasadena might be the little brother of it's Hollywood counterparts but not in the service, size or execution of the food. Just recently went in for a nice bite with a few friends from out of town and was pleasantly surprised.
Water fountain area separating the bar area from the restaurant
Calamari Salad..... very light & tasty
Filet Wrapped Asparagus
Japanese Style Fried Chicken
Cucumber Sunomon..... Kim's favorite
Momotaro Tomatoes
Classic Miso Soup

Shishito Peppers

Yellowtail Sashimi with Diced Chilis

Dessert "sampler" platter: Chocolate Volcano, Rainbow Ice Cream Cake & Oreo Panacotta

Seoul Garden

"Ghengis Khan", see Shabu Shabu for details..... A feast of tasty yet healthy goodness. A variation of Korean Shabu Shabu which consists of the following: Massive amounts of fresh green onions, tofu, enoki mushrooms, napa cabage for the soup base....then followed by thinly sliced well marbled ribeye beef, dipping sauces and a fresh salad....add in a few udon noodles...next the porridge (rice, egg, and dried seaweed added to the shabu water), good way of "recycling your foods".
